So, been a while since I’ve posted, sorry about that.
I’ve been through some changes in my sustainment kit, enough that it’s worth a full post.
Firstly I’ve downsized the pack I’m using, from a full sized British Army Shortback Bergan with side pouches to an British Army issue PRI Daysack with side pouches from an issue ECM Daysack.
The new pack is 45 litres so about half the volume of the old one, the side pouches are a similar size to the old ones but have a different lid more like a proper rucksack.
Starting at the top.
The outside lid pocket has:
Spare Helikon watch cap and Mechanix gloves in a silicone zip lock bag.
A load of snacks.
Pocket knife and ferro rod.
Petzl Taktikka head torch and extra batteries.
Para cord.
Sniper tape (10 feet rolled around a little tube)
Insulating tape
Wet wipes
Tissues
Sharpie
Hand sanitiser
Heavy duty trash bags.
Fire lighting kit.
Wired headphones (with mic)
1st aid kit.
Rehydration tablets.
My goretex comes next, under the top flap for easy access, mostly used as a wind shirt when I’m stopped but it’s a useful rain layer as well.
Basha kit (MTP Basha, jungle knots, pegs etc)
Folding sleep mat (German army)
MTP Goretex bivvy bag
Jungle sleeping bag (Packed inside the bivvy bag to stay dry)
Basha poles, ( Carried on the outside)
3 litres water
“Jet boil” (Highlander Blade mk2)
Stripped rat pack
Basic hygiene kit
Brew kit
Extra long titanium spoon
Swedish folding cups, large & small.
This is my basic setup, the side pouches can be used to upscale with more warm kit or food depending on the season or to carry team kit and airsoft specific items.
Thanks for reading, Jungle.
